CWC Hosts Cybersecurity Boot Camp for Small Businesses & Manufacturers
“Cybersecurity 101” Session to be Held on March 13 in Riverton
Central Wyoming College (CWC) is hosting a hands-on Cybersecurity 101 boot camp on March 13 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Riverton, emphasizing that cybersecurity is more than just a technical issue—it’s a company-wide culture shift designed to help small businesses and manufacturers strengthen their security posture.
This interactive session is designed to help businesses overcome the common misconceptions and barriers that prevent them from engaging with the subject of cybersecurity. Through guided discussions, risk assessments, and action-oriented planning, participants will walk away with the tools to improve their company’s security culture—without needing a deep technical background.
“I’m excited about this agenda because it emphasizes what business leaders can do, rather than the technical side of cybersecurity, which many of us aren’t experts in,” said Laura Baker, speaker at the bootcamp and Executive Director of CyberWyoming.
Session Agenda:
- Breaking the Cybersecurity Mindset Barrier
- 12 Individual Risk Factors for Cyber Safety
- Where Do You Start?
- Next Steps and Available Programs
“There are two kinds of companies: those that have been hacked and those that don’t know they have been hacked. We are excited to offer this cyber boot camp, which can benefit every business from the start-up entrepreneur to a company expanding into government contracting that needs a CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) program.” Said Kevin Kershisnik, Central Wyoming Regional Director for Manufacturing Works
This is a workshop designed for business owners, office managers, and decision-makers to identify security worries, create company security goals, assess risks, and address gaps—all through relevant, human-focused risk education tailored for small businesses.
