Historically, apprenticeships have been synonymous with blue-collar trades like electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and automotive mechanics. However, the model has evolved to include “New Collar” jobs in high-demand fields such as healthcare, teaching, and technology. This webinar will explore how these competency-based programs have transitioned into the tech sector.
“Registered Apprenticeship has been shown to increase employee loyalty and engagement while offering a free educational benefit that is considered the equivalent of a post-secondary certificate. Over 80% of the apprentices in our program stay with the employer after graduation,” said Laura Baker, Executive Director of CyberWyoming.
The webinar is tailored for small tech employers and Managed Service Providers (MSPs), as well as business advisory organizations. Attendees will learn about:
- Tech Apprenticeship Pathways: Structured programs for IT Specialists, Cybersecurity Technicians, IT Managers, and Computer Network Architects that combine on-the-job learning with professional and soft-skills training.
- Employer Benefits and ROI: Research shows that businesses in the top 25% for employee engagement—often a result of apprenticeship mentoring—are more profitable and more productive.
- The Cybersecurity Business Counselor (CBC) Apprenticeship: A unique, free program for business advisors to help small businesses build resilience without requiring a technical background.
- Funding and Incentives: Through the Colorado Apprenticeship Incentive (CAI) grant, CyberWyoming offers cost-free professional development, administrative support, and free soft-skills training through 2027.
CyberWyoming’s programs currently feature an 81% employee retention rate and a 4.95/5 employer satisfaction rating, offering a proven alternative to traditional, high-cost recruitment.
