Stay Safe Online During Tax Time

Before you start working on your taxes, update your software.

Make sure that all the software on your home network – including computers, phones and tablets – is updated.  This isn’t just operating system updates, think Adobe and other products that are on your computer.

Make sure the other Microsoft products are also updating.

Don’t forget to check for firmware updates on any equipment, like a wireless router, also.

Before filing your taxes at home or work, be sure that all internet-connected devices ‒including PCs, smartphones and tablets ‒ are running the most current versions of software to improve the performance and security of your devices.
